@joey: I am being pedantic, this group never became astronauts, they didn’t reach space. They flew really high, like that guy that jumped out of a balloon at that height.

Bible Reading Schedule, Dumbed Down?
by Slidin Fast inhas any body noticed that the bible reading schedule has been reduced to one chapter per week.
does any one know if this is a policy change or something temporary?
at this rate the complete cycle will take 22 years plus..

Where are the days you had to read the Bible in 2 years before being considered for pioneering or elder. I remember special pioneers/Gilead/Bethel had to read the entire Bible during their class (several months) in order to graduate.
If you can’t read a chapter per day (5-15 minutes), then you are probably not going to read it 1 verse per day, plus you lose all the context at that pace.

Probability of Earth and life being how it is
by ballistic inthere are some things we don't know about existence and whether the earth is a simulation or even a creation.
but we can do some statistical analysis on it.. the probability of a planet like earth existing in the goldilocks zone and having a moon that perfectly eclipses the sun is extremely low, but it's not impossible.
the habitable zone (or goldilocks zone) around a star is the region where a planet could potentially support liquid water on its surface.

If the chances are 1 in 10B, then new life starts literally all the time. I think the chances are lower, somewhere in the trillions which still means 1 or more civilizations per galaxy.
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
Douglas AdamsIts like saying the chances to win the lottery are 1:18M and then giving everyone in the country a scratch off - more than a few people are going to win. -

Judge Arrested for Immigration Related Criminality
by Sea Breeze inbreaking: fbi director kash patel has announced the arrest of milwaukee judge hannah dugan for obstructing ice during the arrest of an illegal alien.
patel: "we believe judge dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, eduardo flores ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien — to evade arrest.".

So called free speech zones have long been a contentious issue and imho wouldn’t pass scrutiny. Which they didn’t in this case. The legal arguments are interesting, hence why I said, the legal standard that needs to be reached should be very high. I’m talking purely the legal arguments of the case, nobody says they didn’t go on the grounds and nobody says some weren’t violent.
The question is legally theory of who committed a misdemeanor (very few were convicted under said standard, the prosecutors went immediately for felony), felony (most were charged with felonies and even military offenses like treason) or the protest on the grounds was legally permitted under first amendment (which is eventually what SCOTUS, congress and the current DOJ held was the standard).
Rounding everyone up in the way they were, charging them without due process is the problem, that is why they were pardoned, not because they didn’t do anything wrong per se (that was never proven beyond a reasonable doubt for the majority of people) but because they were denied their civil rights under Biden.

@TD: trespassing has a definition. Even if they were. First time offenders of trespassing are typically not held for 4 years without proof or bail. The J6 commission destroyed and judges withheld video evidence from the trials because it was damaging to the case that many were invited onto public property. The fact SCOTUS had to get involved in a trespassing case is a travesty in itself. And I’m not even talking about whether they have done it, it is highly debatable, which means beyond a reasonable doubt as a standard is unlikely to be reached. The process itself became illegal hours into the arrests, therefore they cannot be convicted.
Protesters often inadvertently or intentionally trespass even private property, the BLM protesters trespassed many private properties to burn then down and didn’t even get prosecuted. If, as CNN says, those protests are peaceful but fiery while the city burns behind the journalist, then a few hundred people walking into a public building as the police wave them on, is definitely peaceful.

@jhine: the majority of Jan 6th convicted were not trespassing and not violent, some were old grandmas that just were there to protest, one person wasn’t even there and got arrested and put in prison. The FBI under Biden simply scraped all cell phone signals in the area and charged everyone, there was no change of venue allowed, most didn’t get a proper trial (evidence was not allowed to be entered on the defendants behalf) if they got a trial at all and the Obama appointed judge refused to set bail to forcing many to settle with a guilty plea - those that didn’t sat in jail longer than their sentence would’ve been, in the cases where the government didn’t get its way, they then went what they call venue shopping, basically, retrying aspects of the case or finding new charges in different courts until they found a Democrat judge willing to bring the hammer down.
By the time Trump came to office, the majority of the cases were still pending, some still sat in pre-trial detention, that is illegal, by virtue of the way the process was handled, the majority had already been decided by the Supreme Court were improperly handled and defendants should be let go, the Biden admin ignored that order.
So for the MAJORITY of cases SCOTUS decided that their methods were IMPROPER and by virtue of that should not be charged, yet the Biden admin CONVICTED them anyway or where they already served the sentence, refused to PARDON them. That is why they were pardoned, because Biden’s DOJ should’ve done it by order of SCOTUS and didn’t, because pardoning or stopping the persecution of Jan 6th defendants in the middle of an election campaign would’ve really hurt Democrats.
Protest is still legal, even overthrowing the government is legal. There was a small minority of people that were violent, they were convicted and not pardoned.
And on topic: illegal immigrants are responsible for more crime, any crime they commit, whether violent or non-violent is a crime they wouldn’t have committed if they weren’t here. So by definition, any crime they commit would’ve increased the stats on the total number of criminal elements in society. Most of the talking points about this come from a single blog article a few years ago where someone claims that reported crime is down, we have more illegals immigrants, therefore more immigrants equals less crime. It’s a stupid comparison.
Compared to the rest of the world, the US is one of the largest importers of both legal and illegal immigrants (both absolutely as well as relative to the total population). Europe has a ‘problem’ when a few thousand a year enters their country illegally, yet the US has taken in to the tune of 20M people, almost 8% of the total US population under Biden alone, about 2M people in Texas alone are currently illegal, imagine 2M of France’s population being illegal (it currently is estimated to be an order of magnitude lower and they are in perpetual ‘crisis’).
So how much do illegals actually contribute to crime: almost 2/3 of federal crime arrests currently involve illegals immigrants. In April of 2023 alone, there were over 300,000 police encounters with illegal immigrants, and again, they makeup about about half the population share of African Americans, imagine police arresting 600k African Americans per month, there would be riots. And this is not just about legal residents, in 2023 850 illegals were killed by the gangs they paid to transport them, statistically that is 5% of all US murders just happening at the border by illegal immigrant gang members, again, proportionally way out of whack with their population.

The end of all life on earth is approximately 7.5 to 7.6 billion years away, that is a guarantee. Anything before that is relatively unimportant. Within a few million years humans (homo sapiens) will have disappeared either completely eradicated by something or evolved into another species.
My end and your end will, if you’re lucky come around the later end of this century. My children’s end hopefully in the next one.
Humans and by extent their gods do not have the power to eradicate humanity on earth (yet). And hopefully by the time our gods are powerful enough to do so, we will have spread across the solar system if not further, which is surprisingly a lot closer technologically than the power to eradicate humanity, so there is hope.

These unverified stories are always fun. I’m sure countless witnesses have already done all the research because it would be great for them if it were true for that argument alone.
Therefore by method of elimination it is not true, else there would be evidence. Although if you’re willing to go far enough, almost everyone in Europe is everyone else’s fourteenth cousin (seriously, you have about 80% chance to be <14 steps away from each other through a common ancestor with your spouse, the 50% chance is surprisingly close) take it about a thousand generations further and everyone in the world is now related.
